Beautiful Esperance

141645
Once again we woke up at sparrows fart – our internal clocks are obviously still on Victorian time – I hope that continues next week when I have to drag my butt out of bed at 6am to get to work again!!

We decided to use up all our water on board the caravan before we headed to Esperance so we sparked up the generator and did our washing – a very easy way to get through about 50 litres of water!!

It only took about 2 hours to get to Esperance – a few little towns on the way through but nothing worth taking a photo of.  Esperance feels like a nice little beachy town – population of just under 15,000 but it has a good variety of shops including a huge Bunnings, SuperCheap Auto, few supermarkets etc.   We stopped off at the supermarket and bottle shop before heading to the caravan park and refilled the sad looking fridge and cupboards.

The caravan park is okay – unfortunately we can’t stay at either of the ones close to the beaches as they don’t allow dogs, so of course just about every caravan here seems to have a dog attached!  It’s pretty full – but then we did expect that as its the beginning of school holidays here and I guess with the weather warming up the grey nomads who have wintered up north are heading down here.  Despite that it seems really quiet.

We got the caravan set up then headed out on the Great Ocean Road drive around a number of beaches – here is a map showing the beaches and the drive around.  Only 2 of the beaches here don't allow dogs (apart from the ones in the National Parks) so Chip got to have a good run around

We will do some more sightseeing tomorrow and have booked Chip in to a daycare place on Wednesday so we can have the day to explore the National Parks and beaches in them which are supposed to be awesome!
