Back to England then back to Wales in 1 day!

The weather has turned to crap today and predicted to stay that way for the next few days. The sick ones on the bus have finally realised after two weeks of trying to cough up their lungs that  sucking lollies isn't making them better and have finally got some antibiotics - not before infecting others though!!! Wouldn't be surprised if they have pertussis actually - thank  goodness we got our immune boosters ages ago and have had vaccinations  - the fun of being on a tour - NOT!!

We popped back in to England to go to Chester this morning. A lovely city with old wooden buildings and cobbled streets - reminded us of being in Europe again. These places seem to take life slowly - most shops don't open till 10am and no one seems to be in any hurry.

Next stop Ludlow - again a lovely quaint village. By this time the rain had really settled in so we quickly found a lovely pub (aptly named the Rose & Crown) and had lunch - celery and cheese soup which was delicious. The pub was just what you imagine one to be like.

We were treated to Tom Jones in the bus on the way to Cardiff as we passed back in to Wales.1

We arrived to a bit of sunshine in Cardiff and had a drive round the city. Cardiff castle dominates the city as does the millennium rugby stadium. We had a bit of a walk round the city centre before heading to the hotel.

We joined the optional tour and dinner at the castle last night and had an awesome time. The castle tower is very ornate inside with lots of colorful drawings, statues and furniture. We then had a lovely 4 course dinner with entertainment in-between. The singers were fantastic - one of the girls had just sung with Dame Kiri Te Kanawa the week before and one of the guys was on leave from a West End show of Les Miserabes! Malcolm provided a fair bit of entertainment too having been dobbed in by our tour guide - I have posted a video on facebook of some of it - he even ended up doing a haka at the end of the night to the delight of the host (can you believe that the two Canadians on our bus have never heard of the haka before!)
