Wales
We caught the early ferry from Dublin to the Isle of Anglesay on Wednesday morning. It took 3.5 hours to get there but was a nice smooth sailing. Mal snoozed for half of it then found out there was a black jack table! Came out only £4 down so wasn't too bad.
Despite the bad weather reports we arrived to sunshine.
The RAF Valley base is here where Prince William is stationed in search and rescue. We tried talking our driver in to having an accident - wasn't happy to oblige bugger it .
The scenery is very similar to NZ again - very green and lush.
We stopped off at a village that has the longest name in Wales Llanfairpwllgwyngyllgogerychwyrndrobwllllantysiliogogogoch
which means hollow (pwll) of the white hazel (gwyngyll) near (goger) the rapid whirlpool (y chwyrndrobwll) [and] the church of [St.] Tysilio (llantysilio) with a red cave ([a]g ogo goch).
We drove through Snowdonia National park - amazing with all its slate mountains - they have so much of the stuff they stand it upright and use it for fences!!! This is where Sir Edmund Hilary used to come and practice his mountain climbing.
We then stopped at Llangollen which was a lovely little village - packed with visitors of course. Stop for the night was in Wrexham.
