Nuremburg

We spent yesterday in Nuremburg - the tour focused a lot on the Nazi history of the city and we were shown where the huge rallies were done by Hitler.  He sure wanted to put his mark on this city and we saw an aerial shot of the size of the rally grounds which just dominated the city area.

Small fact for you....if you were to do the Nazi salute over here you could get a huge fine and be put in gaol for up to 3 days!  Good to know as a tourist as I guess for some there is the temptation to stand where Hitler did and do that for a photo!!!

We also got shown around a lovely old castle - built very well for security sake up on a hill with various sections to go through before reaching the inner areas.  Gave a great view of the city from up the top.

Yesterday was Sunday so hardly any shops open and the cafes were very busy.  We were trying to find some authentic gingerbread but unfortunately it wasn't available anywhere yesterday.  Had to settle for an icecream instead

Back at the ship we were treated to a Bavarian Band....they were very good.
